What does a credit get me?

A story that runs 5 minutes uses 5 credits of your balance, so the 30 credits on Starter make about 6 bedtime stories a month if you spend all your credits on audio. Audio is charged for the recording delivered.
Which voices are included?
Every plan includes expressive Eleven voices: a narrator and distinct character voices, with music under the story. Custom voices you design or clone use the saved slots and monthly creation attempts listed above. Those are separate limits: deleting a voice frees a slot, but does not restore a creation attempt.
Can someone share a custom voice with me?
Every paid plan, including Starter, can receive privately shared voices without using saved voice slots. The owner invites your verified StoryBox email address, and you accept in Voice studio. Both accounts need active paid plans, and the original voice must remain available. Stories use your own credits. The owner can revoke access, and existing stories keep their audio.
How do extra custom voices work?
Creator, Pro, and Teacher's Edition can add saved voice slots for $3.00/month each. Designed voices and Instant voice clones share these slots. Extra slots do not add story credits or monthly creation attempts. They renew until canceled; deleting a voice does not cancel its subscription. After paid capacity ends, excess voices pause for new stories, while existing story audio stays yours. Professional voice cloning requires separate access enabled by StoryBox and is not included with an extra slot.
Are videos included?
Story videos are optional. They spend the same credits you use for audio: 1 credit per second of video. For example, a 30-second video costs 30 credits. There is no minimum charge. Partial seconds round up to the next whole credit. You confirm the total and remaining balance before starting. You need enough credits; video cannot trigger an extra card charge. If it cannot finish, those credits are returned. Animated character portraits use 5 credits for a 5-second animation. Saved portraits are free to reuse.
What happens if I use up my monthly credits?
Active web subscriptions can keep going, and extra audio minutes are billed after the period ends. Subscriptions set to cancel do not use overage. For example, 10 minutes extra on Starter adds $3.00. On Free, stories stop when your credits run out; choose a plan or buy a pack to keep going. Apple subscriptions also stop when prepaid credits run out; buy a pack or wait for renewal. Pictures, portraits and videos always need enough credits and never use audio overage.
What is the in-app storybook?
Storybook illustrates each part of your story with a picture, and the pictures change as the audio plays. The viewer comes with Creator, Pro, and Teacher's Edition; generating each picture uses 1 credit.
Can I download a book or coloring PDF?
Every plan can make PDFs from completed stories when enough credits remain. Illustrated books reuse existing scene pictures; coloring books create new line drawings. Each new picture uses 1 credit. Reused artwork and PDF assembly are free. You see the total before starting; if the PDF cannot finish, those credits are returned. Printing and shipping are not available yet; you can download and print the PDF yourself.
Do credits roll over?
Subscription credits reset each billing period. Credits you buy in a pack never expire.
